Did you know that you can make french toast in the air fryer? Well, as it turns out, you totally can and it’s super simple and easy to do! And you know what’s better? It only takes is six ingredients and just a few minutes of hands on time! I started this Air Fryer French Toast with some of my favorite whole wheat and multi-grain bread.
French toast is pretty standard across the board, but I did lighten the egg mixture up just a bit by using an unsweetened almond milk instead of cream. Trust me when I say, you won’t notice the simple swap. Other than that, the egg mixture is loaded up with plenty of cinnamon goodness.
I have a fairly small air fryer, so I could only fit two pieces in it at a time. And even with that, it took no time at all. And compared to being cooked on a skillet? This method is way easier! For the most part, you don’t have to worry about the skillet being too hot or too cold or over or under cooking.
I topped my Air Fryer French Toast off with blueberry syrup and a dusting of powered sugar with some fresh berries on the side.
Air Fryer French Toast
Ingredients
- 3 Whole Large Eggs
- 1/4 C. Unsweetened Almond Milk
- 1/2 Tsp. Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 Tsp. Salt
- 4 Slices Whole Wheat Bread
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the 3 Whole Large Eggs, 1/4 C. Unsweetened Almond Milk, 1/2 Tsp. Ground Cinnamon, 1/2 Tsp. Vanilla Extract, and 1/4 Tsp. Salt.
- Dip each of the 4 Slices Whole Wheat Bread into the egg mixture to coat both sides of the slices of bread.
- Lightly coat the basket of the air fryer with non-stick baking spray and places the slices of bread into the air fryer. (Mine only holds 2 slices at a time.)
- Set the air fryer to 400 and fry the bread for 4 minutes.
- Open the fryer, flip the toast over, and fry for another 4 minutes.
- Once done, remove the french toast from the air fryer and serve right away to enjoy!
