I topped mine off with some roasted red bell peppers, olive oil, Za’atar seasoning, and some paprika for a little pizzaz. But, this could really be topped with anything you might find on any other hummus. Even though it’s darker in color, it doesn’t taste any differently than any standard hummus.
Goth Hummus
Ingredients
- 4 C. Cooked Black Chickpeas
- 4-6 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
- 2 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 1/2 Tsp. Salt
- 4 Garlic Cloves
- 1 C. Black Tahini
- 1 C. Cold Water
Instructions
- Place the 4 C. Cooked Black Chickpeas into a food processor or blender and puree into a thick paste.
- Add in the 4-6 Tbsp. Lemon Juice, 2 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 1 1/2 Tsp. Salt, and 4 Garlic Cloves. Continue to blend.
- With the blender running, add in the 1 C. Black Tahini.
- Drizzle in the 1 C. Cold Water and continue the blend for another 4-5 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper as needed.
- Once done, transfer to a serving dish and enjoy right away with your choice of added toppings and dippers!
