Apple Fritter Bread

November 11, 2024 Amanda Plott

I’m just going to say it… this Apple Fritter Bread is damn delicious. For being homemade from scratch, it’s rather easy to make; almost all in one bowl, and takes under an hour from start to finish. Making it a perfect option for just about any morning. The best part? It tastes JUST LIKE an apple fritter, but without all the frying involved.

With nice chunks of apples, plenty of spice, and a simple sweet frosting drizzle on top, this bread won’t last long! It’s also a great vegetarian breakfast option…

Strawberry Waffles

May 19, 2022 Amanda Plott

I took a little bit of extra time this week to make myself some breakfast and I was not disappointed. These Strawberry Waffles were the perfect little bit of summer sweet strawberry to wake up to. I made sure that these waffles were from scratch too. And while they do take a few extra steps to make, they are definitely worth it!

The texture of these waffles is a bit more dense due to all the real strawberry goodness in there. It’s sort of on par with how banana bread is more dense and moist than a standard white bread due to the additional moisture from the fruit. But don’t worry, they still end up crisp on the outside and spongy on the inside!…

Banana Nut Waffles

April 7, 2022 Amanda Plott

These Banana Nut Waffles are here to stay. It’s as if banana nut bread and waffles got together and made one ultimate breakfast or brunch bite of awesomeness. And they’re made from scratch (that’s right, no boxed batter here!) It’s good stuff too. That means you get to put what you want and like in there. For instance, I went with chopped pecans AND chopped walnuts.

I like to make a batch of these ahead of time and then keep them on hand through the week to be enjoyed as a quick heat and eat breakfast option. And yes, they do reheat really well via a toaster or toaster oven to get back some of that original crispness!…

Very Cherry Pie

March 20, 2022 Amanda Plott

You know, I haven’t actually ever made pie dough for a pie before. I’ve made something akin to pie dough for other eats and treats before, but I’ve never made pie dough for a pie before. I saw an idea for a strawberry infused pie dough a long while back now, and it’s sort of stuck with me. So when I decided to try my hand at a homemade cherry pie filling, I thought what the hell! I may as well make the pie dough myself and try to infuse it with some cherry goodness too!

So here we have it! THis Very Cherry Pie! It’s got cherries all the way through the filling and into the pie crust. And can I just say, this pie is actually pretty easy to make! You would think making the crust and the filling would be complicated, but it’s honestly not much more work than pre-made dough and canned filling…

September 3, 2021 Amanda Plott

I'm so ready to get below 90 degrees F. for the first time this season. It's time for the end of summer now as as I’m concerned. One of my favorite things about fall has to be pumpkin. Pumpkin this, pumpkin that, pumpkin everything!

They are full of pumpkin flavor and the added warm spices that go along with a traditional pumpkin pie. These aren't your average waffles either, they are huge, fluffy, soft on the inside and slightly crisp on the outside; pumpkin perfection…
