With the oncoming holidays, comes entertaining. And with entertaining, comes appetizers! And I for one, love appetizers. I could make a meal alone out of small appetizers, both hot and cold. One of my favorites though, has to be stuffed mushrooms. My love of stuffed mushrooms goes back several years where I think my first try was at a little Italian restaurant.
I immediately, and without being much of a cook at the time, taught myself how to make them. Skip forward to today and I like to make them with a few minor changes to the original easy recipe that included cream cheese, bacon, and just a touch of Italian cheese. I mean, who doesn’t just love the combination of cheese, mushrooms, and bacon? You’d be crazy not to!
The Calphalon Precision Control™ Countertop Oven has 8 preset cooking functions: Bake, Pizza, Broil, Toast, Roast, Defrost, Bagel, Reheat. And I love that it includes removable wire rack and nonstick baking pan. The nonstick baking pan was perfect for cooking these Stuffed Mushrooms. The quartz technology and turbo convection deliver 30% more even heat* and faster preheating (*Compared to conventional tube heating element), making your countertop cooking a breeze!
These Skinny Stuffed Mushrooms are truly one of my absolute favorite appetizers, and I’ve lightened them up in the best of ways. Using a reduced fat cream cheese and a low sodium center-cut bacon. And when I say stuffed, I mean stuffed!
I love these mushrooms so much that they were served as a main part of our dinner, along side a nice big Italian salad.
