If you have tiny hands in your house (like I do) or are just looking for an easier and less messy way of cutting your watermelon this summer - then this idea is for you!
I've done my fair share of watermelon butchering, and it's almost always been a rather unpleasant task that more often than not ends up with my kitchen in the midst of a sticky mess that lasts for days. Thankfully, about a year ago, I came across a method of cutting watermelon that skips the waste and saves so much time. Plus, it's great for little fingers to grab up.
This is definitely one of those 'duh' moments in the kitchen. Once you realize how to cut a watermelon in this fashion, you'll never do it another way again... and you'll wonder 'Duh! Why didn't I think of that?!'
I almost always go with seedless watermelon. That's because... my daughter has huge... HUGE issues with seeds in her fruit. I just don't know where she gets that nit-picking gene from.
Cutting up an entire watermelon will take no more than 5-10 minutes anymore.
Yes, it's seriously that easy.
This is one of those kitchen tricks that you'll be happy to have nestled in your back pocket during those hot summer months when you're craving fresh watermelon!
