Rainbow Pride Donuts

June 9, 2022 Amanda Plott

Continuing with Pride month and wonderful rainbow inspired eats and treats! I’m no stranger to colorful donuts, but these Rainbow Pride Donuts are the brightest and boldest ones I’ve made yet. It’s a happy coincidence that my donut pan is also heart shaped, which made these Pride donuts just that much more perfect!

To keep these donuts lightened up, I of course baked them. I also used less sugar and threw some whole wheat white flour in there. Other than that, these rainbow beauties are fairly standard to any other baked donuts. Except for being full of Pride and color!…

Skinny Baked Galaxy Donuts

June 24, 2021 Amanda Plott
galaxy-donuts9.jpg

Last night was a full moon. So it just seemed appropriate to make these Skinny Baked Galaxy Donuts today. These donuts are baked (obviously) and are a mix of my Baked Dark Chocolate Coffee Donuts and my Unicorn Donuts. In other words, they’re a chocolate cake based donut with a colorful vanilla frosting and of course galaxy inspired sprinkles on top!

The best part is that you can use whatever space-like sprinkles you want and colors for frosting to match. My frostings were pretty dark and most of it just disappeared into the ether of the donuts only to serve as glue for the sprinkles to the donuts themselves. But, that’s fine. Lots of sprinkles it is!…

Cinnamon Sugar Donut Twists (Air-Fryer)

July 21, 2020 Amanda Plott
cinnamon-sugar-donuts15.jpg

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Donuts are a weekly staple in my house. And sometimes, especially these days, I’d much rather make them myself than go out and get them from somewhere. Baked donuts have their place in this world, but being as I’ve fallen in love with my air fryer, I thought I would give donuts a try in it!

These Cinnamon Sugar Donut Twists are every bit as good as ones you’ll get from any local donut place. But, they’re a lot better-for-you being made with far less sugar and oil. They’re sort of a cross between baked donuts and fried donuts. A perfect mix of the two…

Baked Strawberry Donuts

strawberry-donuts14.jpg

I’ve been wanting to make some donuts again for a good long while now, and while the day ahead is going to be crazy busy - I took the time this morning to whip up these delicious Baked Strawberry Donuts! To really back in the strawberry goodness, I took out all the stops. The cake part of the donut has a homemade strawberry puree mixed right in. And the frosting? Ooooh… the frosting.

The frosting is made with freeze-dried strawberries and is LOADED with strawberry flavor. The secret is in the dried strawberries, I swear! I decided to finish the donuts off with some sweet little heart shaped sprinkles annnd… as you can see, they’re pretty damn cute!…

2 Ingredient Pumpkin Donuts

September 26, 2016 Amanda Plott

This post has been compensated by Acorn Influence and its advertiser EkoBrew. All opinions are mine alone.

It's been dark and gloomy outside for two days now, and quite honestly I love it! The downpour of rain and this cooling weather to me means that fall has arrived. Fall is my most favorite season and that's probably because it includes my two favorite holidays.

With the influx of fall, comes a change to my morning routine. Things have settled down finally with my little one off at school and a much needed quite lull descending on the house during the day. It also means that I get to use my oven again. Praise be it. I've missed my oven this year during the summer.

Use of my oven means baking, and baking means I get to make homemade donuts again! These easy pumpkin donuts take no time at all to make and pair perfectly with my pumpkin spice coffee as part of a great start to any morning...
