Who the hell ever said that black-eyed peas had to just be a New Year’s day thing? Yes, I’m deliberately posting this recipe AFTER the first of the year to be a bit of a rebel.

Every year in my house, it’s the same old debate. What do we do with black-eyed peas to make them more edible. Let’s face it, black-eyed peas earned their nickname ‘dirt peas’ for a reason. Over the years, I’d like to think that I’ve come up with a few clever ways.

Western Omelette Crustless Quiche

Now that the holidays are coming to a close for the year, I know that we’ve all got our fair share of leftover turkey and/or ham in our freezers. This is one of my FAVORITE times of year for this VERY reason. And considering there was a little bit of a communication failure over Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner, I’ve ended up with a BUNCH of leftovers.

You don’t see me complaining about that though. I love to make leftover rewind recipes, especially with leftover holiday meats. Savory Holiday Monkey Bread

I love monkey bread. I love that it’s a quick, easy, and delicious way to pack a lot more flavor into any traditional biscuit dough. Usually monkey bread is sweet and is made as more of a breakfast or even as a dessert. Such as my cherry pie version, or my pumpkin spice one! But, not much can beat the strawberries and cream monkey bread.

Today though, I was craving tomato soup and some crunchy bread. It’s chilly out and that traditional meal sounded very comforting. But then! I thought better of myself. Why make a boring plain old grilled cheese when I could make something drinkable, dipable, and fun instead?!…

It’s time to get cheesy! Cheese is, and always has been, my achilles’ heal. If there was one food that I could never manage to give up for just about any reason, it would be cheese. I even have a collection of recipes that is strictly devoted to cheesy eats and treats. Yep. My love for cheese goes far.
