You know when you're making some cookies and you just can't help but eat a spoonful or two of the dough? ... Even though you're not supposed to because of the raw egg or other 'icky' stuff that could be in there? It's one of those shameful moments that we all take part in at one time or another.
Yeah, well. Problem solved!
That's right. This cookie dough is meant for eating. Not for baking.
Please, do not attempt to bake this cookie dough...
I tried many variations of this over the past two weeks. I know, it's a hard job... but someone has to do it. I was trying to get the perfect healthified cookie dough. I even attempted a vegan and gluten-free kind that was made out of chickpeas. I was not impressed with that one. Not at all.
Here, I've taken the best parts of edible cookie dough and put my own little healthy twists on it to make it a even more guilt-free. I swapped out regular flour for whole wheat white flour, and used dark chocolate chips in place of semi-sweet or milk chocolate. I also used a natural calorie free sweetener instead of most of the sugar. I did leave a little bit of brown sugar in there to keep that rich 'golden' taste that chocolate chip cookie dough tends to have.
Ah, sweet... sweet perfection.
Can I tell you that this has been a bit of a problem in my house for the past week now? I think I've made it at least every other day. Yeah, it's that addictive.
This would be the perfect sweet treat for a sleepover or even a 'ladies night in' sort of thing.
