Fried pickles… need I say more? One of my favorite things to enjoy at the local theater is their fried pickles. Nice sized spears that are perfectly crisp on the outside and hot as hell and juice on the inside. Perfect for dipping into some ranch on the side while watching a movie.
I’ve tried my hand at faux fried pickles, by way of baking before. And while they pickles turned out pretty good, they were still missing a bit of that crunch factor. …As most faux fried things tend too. So, now that there’s an air fryer in the house I thought it was the perfect time to air fry some pickles!
These Air Fryer Fried Pickles are made with a whole wheat white flour and very little oil, making them perfectly delicious and yet fairly guilt-free. They’re crispy on the outside, and hot and juicy on the inside. Just like a fried pickle is supposed to be.
I like to serve mine with a small side of a light or homemade ranch for dipping on the side, but they’d be great with whatever sort of dip you prefer dunking in. Or… no dip at all! These pickles are perfectly good all on their own too.
Of course, being as these are a hot snack you’ll want to be sure that they’re eaten right away. The longer they sit, the more ‘wimpy’ they will become. So be sure that you’re ready to enjoy them as soon as you pop them out of the air fryer!
