So, over a year ago now I had made these amazingly delicious PB&J Cups that were some of my most favorite homemade candies ever. Party because they were so good, and partly because they were - well - more wholesome for being homemade. These Marbled Chocolate & Matcha Candy Cups are no different.
They chocolate used here is a dark chocolate, which instantly gives you a few more benefits than most other chocolates. And to make it even better, I filled them with a matcha butter that is perfectly balanced with the swarms of white chocolate to give just the right amount of sweetness without being an too much.
These candy cups are super simple to make. I started out with a blend of chocolates and Crisco® Unrefined Organic Coconut Oil for the candy 'cup' part. I really wanted the flavor of the coconut to come through, so that's why I chose to use Unrefined Coconut Oil; since it retains that distinct coconut flavor I was looking for. But, if you are wanting a more subtle taste for other recipes, the Refined Coconut Oil has no flavor or aroma, making Crisco® Coconut Oil a great organic substitute for butter, margarine, or other oils in the kitchen.
Right now Crisco® is running a Cartwheel coupon offer at Target for 25% off all varieties from September 3rd to October 7th!
Using both Crisco® Unrefined Coconut Oil and coconut butter in these candies gives you a powerhouse of coconut goodness to these matcha cups.
The dark chocolate is always my go-to chocolate, but I know that matcha can be a rather bitter taste as well. So, that's why I added in the swirl of white chocolate, to help balance the bitter with some sweet for a perfect little treat.
These cute little candy cups are perfect for curbing that sweet tooth while giving you a little boost of energy from that matcha in there. Plus, they're pretty and easy to make! They would make for a great gift for friends and family as we get closer to the holidays too.

Ingredients:
5 Oz. Dark Chocolate Chips
5 Oz. White Chocolate Chips
2 Tsp. Crisco® Unrefined Coconut Oil (Divided)
1/4 C. Coconut Butter, Softened/Slightly Melted
1 Tbsp. Sugar Free Maple Syrup
1/2 Tbsp. Matcha Powder
Directions:
Line a mini muffin pan with papers and set aside.
Place the 5 0z. white chocolate chips into a microwavable bowl along with 1 tsp. of the Crisco® Unrefined Coconut Oil. Put the bowl into the microwave for 15 seconds, stir and repeat up to 1 minute to melt the chocolate.
Rinse and repeat this step for the 5 oz. dark chocolate chips and the remaining 1 tsp. of Crisco® Unrefined Coconut Oil.
Spoon 1 tsp. of each of the melted chocolates into each section of the mini muffin pan. Use a toothpick to swirl the chocolates together.
Place the muffin pan into the freezer to let the chocolate set while you make your matcha filling.
Pro Tip: I kept my remaining melted chocolate in a warm place so that it would remain melted.
In a medium bowl, mix together the 1/4 C. Coconut Butter, 1 Tbsp. Sugar Free Maple Syrup, and 1/2 Tbsp. Matcha Powder until well combined.
Once set, remove the pan from the freezer and use about a 3/4 tsp. to scoop out some of the matcha butter. Form it into a small 'disk' shape and place it atop the set chocolates to create your cup filling.
Divide the remaining melted chocolate evenly among the cups and be sure to cover the matcha butter completely.
Pro Tip: Tap the pan on the counter a few times to get the melted chocolate to settle in.
Place the pan back into the freezer for about abhor to set the chocolate completely.
Dust with some more matcha if desired and enjoy!
Keep these stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Bring to room temperature and eat cold!
