What's a Jarlsberger? It's basically an all American burger that's covered with a delicious melted slice of Jarlsberg® cheese! I've take this traditional burger and made it more my own by adding in some sneaky vegetables and some seasoning to the lean meat; making it all the more guilt free for your grill and you this summer.
Trust me, you won't even know the vegetables are there, and neither will anyone else for that matter! Adding veggies to my burger meat has been something that I've been doing for all of my cooking-life. It's one of my secret weapons for making a good moist burger, even when using poultry or a lean meat!
As an added bonus to a good juicy burger, you get the keen knowledge that you just got some wholesome vegetables into your friends and family.
So what about this Jarlsberg® cheese? In 1956, Jarlsberg® cheese was created, using an original Norwegian recipe. Why does Jarlsberg® cheese taste so mild, mellow and nutty? It's all part of the legend... and Norway's most guarded recipe!
Since summer is the perfect time to enjoy a great burger on the grill, Jarlsberg® Cheese is celebrating the no-fuss season with the season’s perfect contest. Topping your favorite burger, chicken, or grilled vegetables with a variety of flavors from Jarlsberg® Cheese has never been easier. Jarlsberg® Cheese, Jarlsberg® Lite Cheese and Jarlsberg® Smoked Cheese add flavor to any grilled recipe and is available nation-wide.
Of course, I went with Jarlsberg® Lite Cheese.

These burger patties were perfect atop a whole wheat bun and covered with all the great things that any good burger has; lettuce, tomato, pickle, onions and condiments of your liking.
Another great thing about these burgers is that they can be made ahead of time, covered and kept in the fridge until you're ready to fire up the grill. Just be sure that you keep the patties separated with some parchment paper and you're good to go!
I served mine with a side of BBQ beans and some macaroni salad that my mom brought over for our little family weekend get together.
Healthified Jarlsberger

I got right at 5 good size burgers, and even a smidge left over for a little doggy patty as seen on the grill below. The three lighter patties there are actually made with turkey for those that didn't want beef.
Awe, puppy patty! My mom's little man, Ozzy, loved his treat.
Heat up your grill and cook those burgers until they are done to your liking.
Top with that amazing Jarlsberg® Lite Cheese to melt.
Place the burgers on the buns and top with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, and condiments of choice.
