It’s about to be America’s birthday and I figured it was time to celebrate with some beer. And cheese. To be pretty honest, I don’t think that I’ve ever had beer cheese. I’ve had wine infused cheese and cheese fondue with beer in it, but… that’s about the extent of it. Beer isn’t my personal favorite when it comes to choice of beverages.

Fairy Garden Salad

We’re coming to the close of our ‘fantasy’ themed week of summer in my house. And since the initial recipe that I made was geared more towards the kiddos, I figured for this go-round I’d create something for the ADULTS. This fairy garden salad is loaded up with greens, sprouts, berries, and of course… edible flowers!

The way I see it? If I were a fairy, I would totally be eating flowers. That just seems like the fairy thing to do. Right? Right. That pretty light pink dressing there is definitely one of my new favorites. It’s got just enough tang and zip to make this salad really stand out. And of course… you can’t go wrong with PINK dressing…

2 Ingredient Edible Playdough

It’s summer and my girl and are in the thick of our first themed week! Kids cooking/baking. We’re having a LOT of fun in the kitchen to start the summer off with a bang. When the mini-me is in the kitchen, I like to play around with fun bright colors, and of course, sprinkles too! It’s not always about cooking (on the stove) or baking either.

This morning we decided to try our hand at making some fun EDIBLE playdough. Edible as in - doesn’t taste like salty pizza dough. Edible as in - something kids will enjoy playing with and snick-snacking on. The best part? This edible playdough only requires 2 ingredients (3-4 if you want it pretty and sprinkled up!)…

Rainbow Bread

It’s the first day of Summer break and my kiddo and I are already digging into our themed weeks! This first week of summer has been dubbed cooking/baking week, which means that mea and my girl are going to spend the majority of our time in the kitchen. That’s not really a new thing to me, but… it’ll be new to have her at my side for most of it!

Since we’re baking and since it’s Pride month, I thought it would be fun for me and the girl to try our hand at making some rainbow bread. Now, I used to have a bread maker that was super handy for these sorts of things, but to be honest I couldn’t have used it here anyway. Three Bean Salad

This dish is a great substitute for any of it's less healthy BBQ friendly counterparts such as pasta, chips, or dip. It’s an older recipe, one of the first I ever made. So, it needed a little bit of an update and some of the dust to be blown off of it.

It’s STRAWBERRY season! Fresh strawberries are one of my favorites. But, then again, any fresh berry that’s in season will be welcomed with open arms. Even so, with all this big glorious berries around right now, I thought it was high time to put them to use!
