Get Forking Skinny - Or Bust!

I'm writing this little post to explain how the "Get Forking Skinny Meal Plan" came to be.

I have been telling Amanda that a meal plan would be the perfect complement an would go hand-in-hand with all that she is doing on her Skinny Fork blog. I, like many other women out there have gained and lost the same stupid 20 pounds over and over throughout my lifetime. I have tried all kinds of "fad" diets, diet gimmicks and weight loss supplements. Amanda considers the word "diet" a 4 letter word and has been telling me for a long time now that I should just try eating healthy and cleaner.

 

She knows first-hand that this method of eating works for losing weight and keeping it off (that's the hard part, after all). After my granddaughter was born, Amanda had at least 20 pounds of baby weight she needed to lose. She was breast feeding and wasn't about to go on any crazy crash diet. Instead, she was determined to lose the weight in a healthy manner. By following a healthy "diet" she lost all of the weight and ended up even thinner than before she got pregnant. She has maintained this weight loss for almost 4 years now. I believe that is when her interest in "healthifying" recipes began.

 

I am putting myself in her hands and am going to follow the menu plan that she creates for me. She will tell you that I often roll my eyes at some of her recipe ideas or food combinations. I admit that when it comes to food, I am pretty stuck in my ways, however, she has never made a dish that I didn't like. I am excited to try more of her recipes and look forward to the adventure of trying new foods and combinations of foods that I probably never would have on my own and hopefully will lose these stubborn pounds once and for all!

 

I invite anyone interested in losing weight while eating fun, flavorful foods to join me on this journey. I will start on January 6th and end on February 14th - almost 6 weeks. I think the calorie count will be no more than 1200 per day. I will check-in once weekly to report how it's going.

 

So . . . ready, set, let's get Forking Skinny!
