My daughter is pretty much obsessed with donuts. Seriously, once a week she gets to have donuts for breakfast. Usually it’s from a local donut place, but this morning I decided to take it up a notch. Healthified Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

One of the first swaps I made was to use a whole wheat white flour. Why? I wanted to get the whole wheat in there without the ‘grit’ of whole wheat flour. I also subbed in a brown sugar/sweetener blend instead of full on brown sugar. This cut down the sugar on these cookies immensely.

Other than that, these cookies are really pretty standard. Oats, raisins, and some spices.

These cookies do take some time, but that’s only because the dough needs to chill for at least an hour in the fridge to avoid the dough spreading out too much when baking…

Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

I’ve pretty much been in smoothie mode recently which is pretty strange since I wasn’t a big fan of them in years past. I always tended to rather eat my food as opposed to drink it. But, with it being 90+ degrees here still in Austin… I figured the best way to get my pumpkin in the start of this Fall would be in the form of a smoothie.
