Baked Dark Chocolate Coffee Infused Donuts (Sponsored)

These delicious dark chocolate cake donuts are baked up to perfection and infused with McCafé coffee, both in the cake and the drizzled glaze on top to give that extra boost of coffee flavor. I made these donuts more wholesome by using whole wheat flour, dark chocolate cocoa, and a few other substitutions.

To get my coffee flavor I used the McCafé premium roast coffee pods and brewed myself a nice dark fresh cup using the 'extra strong' feature on my machine. McCafé coffee is made with 100% Arabica Beans, and is harvested from the rich soils and mountainous regions of the foremost coffee-growing areas of the world. Pretty impressive, huh?

McCafé coffee is now available at Walmart and comes in both premium bags and coffee pods. It also comes in 8 different flavors, so there's more than one option on how to brew it.

The flavor of McCafé coffee was the perfect taste to use in these chocolate donuts. The coffee worked together blissfully with the dark chocolate cocoa without overpowering it or making it bitter at all!

These donuts are super amazing and will definitely make your morning all the better when paired with a nice fresh brewed cup of McCafé coffee. What's even better is that they are really pretty easy to toss together, even when you haven't got yourself dressed yet!

Trust me, I know from experience. Haha!

I managed to get 10 donuts out of this recipe with my particular pan, but if you have a different one then you may end up with different results than I did.

Ingredients:
Donuts:
1/2 C. Cake Flour
1/2 C. Whole Wheat White Flour
1/4 C. Dark Cocoa Powder
2 Tbsp. Sugar
2 Tbsp. Natural Sweetener (Such as Stevia, Truvia, Etc...)
1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda
1/4 C. Strong Brewed Coffee
1/4 C. Fat Free Milk
1/4 C. Plain Fat Free Greek Yogurt
1 Whole Large Egg
2 Tbsp. Unsweetened Applesauce
1/2 Tsp. Vanilla Extract

Glaze:
1/4 C. Powdered Sugar
1/2-1 Tbsp. Strong Brewed Coffee

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. and light coat the inside of a donut pan with non-stick baking spray; set aside.

Whisk together the flours, cocoa powder, sugar, sweetener, baking powder, and baking soda into a medium bowl.

In a separate large bowl, combine the coffee, milk, yogurt, egg, applesauce and vanilla.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix together until just combined and no lumps remain.

I was able to get my McCafé coffee at my local Walmart!

Transfer the batter to a piping bag or a ziplock and pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each section about 3/4 of the way full.

Place the pan into the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean from the donuts.

Once done, allow to cool slightly before carefully removing the donuts.

Place the donuts on a wire rack to continue cooling completely.

While the donuts are cooling, mix up the ingredients for the glaze.

Once the donuts are completely cooled, drizzle the glaze over the tops of them or dip them straight into the glaze; whichever you're more comfortable with!

Enjoy with a cup of your favorite McCafé coffee.

Store any leftovers (hah!) in an airtight container.
