Week 5 Check In!
Week 5 has been really yummy!
We really enjoyed the steaks and skinny twice-baked potatos - we had beef tenderloin (YUM) and the potatoes didn't even taste skinny! We had cold weather this week which was great for the two soups that were on the meal plan. The french onion was delightful alongside the quiche (I took leftovers for lunch and enjoyed them equally as well the next day).
The funny thing about the Skinny Turkey and Wild rice soup is that I forgot to add the half -and-half but didn't even miss it - it was very tasty without it. (I do intend to make it again in the near future with the half-and-half).
We actually served it Italian Grinders on a Stick at a SuperBowl party and they were a huge hit. In fact, we also served the Skinny 7-Layer Dip and Healthified Chili and none of the guests noticed that they were lower calorie versions of the original.
I enjoyed the Chocolate BB Parfait, however, I used plain greek yogurt in it instead of vanilla and thought it could have used a little more sweetness. And speaking of breakfast, I have become a big fan of the Lighter Egg-In-A-Basket! I don't eat the part that is cut out of the bread so that saves even more calories! I have even made it the night before, stored it in the fridge and reheated it in the toaster oven the next morning at work. I love it served alongside my "Healthified" Mocha Drink that I have been making for years now. I use HEB's brand of Mootopia Fat-Free Milk (which has extra vitamins and calcium added and a whopping 12 grams of protein per 1 cup serving) along with a couple of teaspoons of sugar-free chocolate syrup, Torani sugar-free Raspberry coffee syrup and a packet of Starbuck's French Roast Via.
Even after all this good food, I don't really feel like I lost much (if any) weight this week. I have found myself grabbing a bite of this or a taste of that and I'm sure those calories have added up. I have decided to put off weighing myself until until this coming Friday.
I will check-in again after that and post my final weight loss results. I'm stopping a couple of days early because I want to go out to eat and have bad things that aren't good for me on Valentine's Day with my Sweetie!
To be continued...
