Strawberry Banana Smoothie

In the past, I’ve not been a huge fan of drinking my meals. But… over the past year or two it’s become a go-to in a lot of cases. Life continues to get more crazy and busy, and it’s just easier and quicker to down a meal in a few glugs rather than sit and focus and eat. Although the latter is still my preferred method of eating, it’s just not always doable.

Enter this Strawberry Banana Smoothie.

If I’m going to drink my meal, I want it to be made with things I love and taste amazing. So? That’s where the strawberries and banana come in.

To give this smoothie a bit more umph, I also added in some chia seeds. And for the liquid? Orange juice and reduced fat milk. Now, I used a lactose free milk, but you can use any sort of milk that your little heart desires; almond, coconut, fermented mermaid tears, or whatever else. Today? I have lactose free milk so that’s what I used.

It turned out pretty fabulous, if I do say so myself. I used a bullet mixer to whip men up, and it came out just the right constancy for a straw without being TOO thick. Though a food processor or blender would work out pretty well too, it might give a slightly different texture.

So, there you have it. A delicious and light breakfast smoothie that is made in just a few seconds and with handful of ingredients. Perfect and refreshing for a warm summer day, or any old time really.
