Instant Pot Apple Cider

Whohooooo. It is coooold out today, y’all. It is cold. Windy. And I am in the process of recovering from a cold. Current state? My body needs all the warm things. Thankfully, I had this Instant Pot Apple Cider on my list to make this week. And can I just say, it really really hit the spot.

There isn’t much that can top a homemade mug of spiced apple cider soothe a sore throat. Especially while we’re in the throes of Fall season.

To be pretty honest, I didn’t think making homemade apple cider would be this easy. Toss everything into a pressure cooker and in 15 minutes you’ve got the makings of apple cider.

Naturally, there isn’t a whole lot to lighten up with apple cider. Apples, oranges, spices and water. That’s it! The most difficult thing about making this cider, is keeping it simple. There’s no need to peel or seed the fruit since you' end up straining it anyway.

I love that with making your own cider, you get to control the level and kind of spice going into it. Really though, it’s pretty straight forward.

Now, there’s plenty of variations of apple cider out there, but I’ll tell you that I went with mostly ground spices instead of whole spices because I wanted to be able to see the spices in there. Not just taste them. After all, if you can’t see the spices, isn’t it just hot apple juice?
