Healthified 'Bagel Bites' Pizza

love pizza.

I will seriously almost eat it in any way, shape, or form. I am totally unbiased and nondiscriminatory against nearly every pizza. Unless of course it has seafood or some off the wall topping on it.

When I was younger (high school years and below), I could have put away my weight in Pizza Pockets, Pizza Rolls, or Bagel Bites. Seriously. These days I like to think that I'm a little older and a lot wiser.

This recipe is super easy and probably takes about 10 minutes of prep. time - and that includes making the sauce from scratch! These little bagels are great for a family game night or just a fun meal for the kids (and parents) to be tickled about.

And once more, there's nothing here to feel guilty about... even if the whole pan ends up getting eaten. There's nothing but whole grains, fresh sauce, and some leaner pepperoni involved here!

These do come out with the bagels still somewhat soft, which if fine if you're a thick crust sort of person. Personally, I think next time I'll toast the bagels slightly before adding the sauce and continuing with the recipe from there. But, to each is own!

Also, I would have loved to add some black olives or mushrooms here - but I was keeping it simple today. Maybe next time.

The Skinny:
Servings: 10 • Size: 1 Bagel Bite • Calories: 103.5 • Fat: 3.2 g • Carb: 12.6 g • Fiber: 2 g • Protein: 6.6 g • Sugar: 2 g • Sodium: 276.1 mg

Ingredients:
5 100% Whole Wheat Mini Bagels, Halved
1 C. Thick &  Hearty Pizz Sauce
1 C. Pizza Cheese
20 Slices Turkey Pepperoni

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. and line a baking sheet with foil. Set aside.

Place the bagels down on the prepared baking dish, face side up.

Top each with about 1 1/2- 2 tbsp. tomato sauce.

Sprinkle cheese over the tomato sauce, dividing evenly among the bagels.

Top each 'pizza' with 2 pepperoni slices.

Clearly, my daughter doesn't like pepperoni... so just pretend those two at the top there have pepperoni on them.

Place in the preheated oven and bake for 5-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Enjoy warm with a side salad!
