French Dip Bites + Au Jus
Sometimes the family just wants something light and snacky for dinner. These French Dip Bites are perfect for being added to any game day or get-together spread. They’re rather quick and easy to make… and that homemade au jus? Mmm… that may just be the best part! It’s delicious and almost fool proof.
Usually au jus can be complicated and time consuming. This one though? Easy breezy with no drippings required. Plus, being as its homemade, you get to decide how to season it! While the bites themselves are delicious the au jus is really the star of the show here.
French Dip sandwiches have always been one of my favorite sandwiches. It’s true! Ever since the very first time I tried one, I’ve been in love. These small ‘bite’ versions of them are every bit as impressive. I started them out with a refrigerated biscuit dough. I’ve got my favorite brand, but any which one will work just the same. With that I added in a local ‘house made’ deli sliced roast beef and some shredded Italian blend cheese which included plenty of parmesan.
The au jus is simple. Beef broth, onion, garlic and some seasoning - and you’re good to go. Salt. Salt. Salt to your own taste. With just at 15 minutes to make either the bites or the au jus, you can easily have these mini french dips ready in well under half an hour.
Anyone and everyone who loves a french dip is sure to enjoy these bites just as much - if not more! Serve them warm with an easy side salad and you’ve got a nice little light lunch or dinner. Otherwise, they’re great as a popable, dipable, dunkable party snack!
