Club Sandwich
Who can say no to a traditional club sandwich? This Club Sandwich is made just a little better-for-you with a few simple swaps that keep it perfectly classic and yet guilt free! As with any club sandwich, this one starts out with sliced deli ham and turkey, and then paired with bacon, cheese, tomato and some lettuce. All on some toasted bred with a smear of light mayo.
It’s good stuff and goes well with a light salad, a cup of soup, or even some salt and vinegar kettle chips like I had. It was simple, classic, and so so good! Of course, I wouldn’t say no to some pickles on the side too.
As you can see, this sandwich is layers of flavor as far as the eye can see. I used a nice seeded whole grain bread for my sandwich that was right at about 110 calories per slice. But, you can really use any kind of bread here, gluten-free, white, whole wheat, etc!
As with most sandwiches, this one would make a pretty good one to made ahead and have ready to go for lunch time. Though I wouldn’t make it more than a few hours ahead of time, and of course you’ll want to keep it stored in a cold place.
