Skinny Mixed Berry & Cherry Margarita
As the weather continues to warm up here and with spring drowning nearer, I thought it would be a great time to get a new skinny fruit cocktail out there. Margaritas are one of my favorites. Why? Because they are so easily made to be a skinny drink, plus you can get your fill of fruits in there too!
This skinny margarita is easy to mix up, and what's better is that it's full of some good stuff. Not just fruit either, but probiotics as well! It's light, bubbly, and perfect for the nice warm afternoons that we're having here in central Texas.
To get the probiotics in this drink, I got my hands on some of my new favorite KeVita brand Sparkling Probiotic Drink. There are lots of amazing flavors, but two of my favorite are the Blueberry Cherry and Strawberry Coconut.
Today I decided to go with the Blueberry Cherry flavor so that I could get plenty of berries in there to go along with the cocktail, because - yum! There's only 25 calories in a decent sized serving of the KeVita Probiotic Drink, so I thought it would make for a great mixer here in place of full on fruit juice.
I decided to rim my glass as goes along with the tradition of a margarita, but it's unneeded and really just there for looks anyway. As for the berries, I was sure to use all the main ones, blueberry, strawberry, blackberry, raspberry and even a strawberry slice for a finally garnish.
There's no 'syrup' or sour mix in this drink, so it's definitely lighter and less dense than what you might be used to with a typical margarita. But, that's one of my favorite things about this drink!
