2 Ingredient Edible Playdough

It’s summer and my girl and are in the thick of our first themed week! Kids cooking/baking. We’re having a LOT of fun in the kitchen to start the summer off with a bang. When the mini-me is in the kitchen, I like to play around with fun bright colors, and of course, sprinkles too! It’s not always about cooking (on the stove) or baking either.

This morning we decided to try our hand at making some fun EDIBLE playdough. Edible as in - doesn’t taste like salty pizza dough. Edible as in - something kids will enjoy playing with and snick-snacking on. The best part? This edible playdough only requires 2 ingredients (3-4 if you want it pretty and sprinkled up!)

I tried to healthify this treat by using a natural vanilla frosting and substituting in a replacement for confectioners’ sugar. I had totally planned to use an all natural plant based food coloring and naturally colored sprinkles but… I used all the color up on my Rainbow Bread the other day.

I’ll be honest in saying that the edible playdough, despite me efforts to make it better-for-you, is still a little too sweet for my adult pallet. It’s not really meant for sitting and grazing on, it’s more of… a play with it like you normally would any playdough, only now you can lick your fingers and be totally find with it.

As you can see, we played with the edible playdough like it was ice cream, which worked out perfectly because it looked like ice cream, but doesn’t melt!
