Monte Cristo Monkey Bread

July 26, 2023 Amanda Plott

If you're looking to satisfy your cravings for something both savory and sweet, look no further than the enchanting Monte Cristo Monkey Bread. This unique treat is a delightful twist on the classic sweet brunch item, taking inspiration from the renowned Monte Cristo sandwich. Fluffy pieces of dough, irresistibly soft and tender, enveloped in a tantalizing mixture of ham, turkey, cheese, and Dijon mustard. This heavenly concoction creates a harmonious balance between savory and sweet, tickling your taste buds in all the right ways.

As this delightful creation finds its way into the oven, something magical begins to happen. The cheese, carefully integrated into the dough, starts to melt, transforming into a pool of gooey goodness. Each bite becomes a treasure trove, as the flavors of the ham and cheese intertwine, creating a symphony of flavors that dance upon your palate…

Turkey Wrapped BLT

June 11, 2023 Amanda Plott

If you're looking for a low-carb and gluten-free lunch option, then you're in for a treat with this turkey wrapped BLT. Instead of using bread, use turkey slices as a wrap for the bacon, lettuce, and tomato filling.

This twist on the classic BLT is not only healthier, but it's also just as satisfying. The savory and salty flavor of turkey pairs perfectly well with the crisp lettuce and juicy tomato, while the smoky bacon adds a rich flavor to the mix. This meal is easy to prepare and make-ahead, which makes it convenient for those who are busy but still want something delicious and nutritious for lunch…

Air Fryer Grilled Cheese

December 1, 2022 Amanda Plott

After the rush that was last week, I've kept it pretty simple this week. And nothing is more simple than a grilled cheese. This Air Fryer Grilled Cheese takes it a step further, leaving you making the famous American sandwich hands free in the air fryer. The best part is that you get a perfectly crisp toast on the outside and an ooey-gooey melted cheese on the inside. You truly can’t go wrong here.

There isn’t a whole lot here to healthify or make better-for-you while also keeping with the classic. I started this sandwich off with Texas toast, because there’s no other way to have the sandwich if you’re aiming for traditional. But, you could definitely swap the bread out for something whole wheat or sprouted grain. Today though? I want CLASSIC…

Jalapeño Cheddar Bread Machine Bread

August 5, 2022 Amanda Plott

It’s H.O.T. Hot. It’s the long stretch here at the end of Summer and I can’t wait to get to the other end of it when we hopefully roll into the cooler weather of Fall. With it being the heat of the Summer, I’m still in avoiding-the-oven mode for the most part. But, that being said, I haven’t made any fresh homemade bread in a while and my bread machine was starting to collect dust. We can’t have that!

So I busted my bread machine out and decided to make a savory flavorful bread to have on hand for lunches this week. This Jalapeño Cheddar Bread Machine Bread is super easy to make since the bread machine does literally almost all of the work for you. The mixing, the kneading, the baking - yep… all of it…

Parmesan Rosemary Bread

November 16, 2021 Amanda Plott

Sometimes you just need a really good bread to go with dinner to sop up the leftovers of a good soup or stew. And this Parmesan Rosemary Bread is perfect for that. It’s got rosemary and parmesan baked right into the bread so there’s that bump of added flavor for whatever you happen to pair this bread with. Though if we’re being honest, this bread would also make a really good sandwich!

The bread dough is most easily made in a bread machine, but I also included the directions for making it if you don’t have a bread machine. Either way you go about it, this is a great yeast bread recipe whether you’re new or experienced with working with yeast dough…

Halloween Bread

October 28, 2021 Amanda Plott

With just a few days more before it’s Halloween I wanted to make my daughter’s lunch box extra special. So, I decided to make this fun Halloween colored sandwich bread! I made it based off of my Rainbow Bread, but with a slight recolor to go along with Halloween!

I made this bread dough in my bread machine and then colored it, sandwiched it all together, rolled it up and made it into a loaf for baking. You can also make this bread without a bread machine. I only used mine for the mixing and rising aspect…
